Puppy Training

 Puppy Training, Fun and Easy

Relieve all the stress and frustration with your new puppy. Call 713-728-0610

Congratulations! You’re the proud parent of a brand new, adorable, cuddly puppy. The first couple of days all is well and the puppy is behaving well. Then all of a sudden, you start to see  behaviors such as puppy biting and nipping house training accidents the puppy chasing your kids, the puppy is growling at your kids. You ask: Where in the world did that sweet, adorable, calm puppy go? Relax, it’s very normal, and we’re here to help.

Our puppy training is a series of 3, one hour lessons spaced approximately 7 to 10 days apart.  We work with you in your home, with as  many family members as possible and your children are encouraged to participate.

We like to start training new puppies at about 8-10 weeks of age as the puppy will stay awake and participate in the lessons.

New puppies come into your home with NO knowledge of how to live in a human household.

Their view of  life is drastically different from ours as they only know their life from being in the litter,  so they act like, well, puppies!   This means, peeing, pooping, biting, nipping, jumping, chewing and the list goes on.

Your job as a new “puppy parent” is to teach your puppy how to live in your home.  It’s not hard at all if you understand how to train correctly.  You maintain your patience,  there is little to no stress and you are always setting your puppy up to succeed. If you begin training early you will have fewer, or no behavior problems in the future because you will be giving your puppy a strong foundation.

That’s my job to teach you how to do this.  We work on this together.

Training a puppy is a process and you must always keep your expectations age appropriate.  An 8 week old puppy will NOT hold a sit for more than a few seconds. Our puppy training is structured to give you the hands on knowledge of how to help your new puppy have lots of successes and minimal failures.

This is a great opportunity to let us teach and show you how our positive reinforcement puppy training covers everything from nose to tail in a package of 3 lessons that are each 1 hour in length.(or more if you wish).

  • These private puppy lessons are geared for the young puppies meaning less than 6 months of age.
  • These puppy lessons are private lessons in your home with family members and the new puppy
  • These new puppy lessons can be personalized to fit your family’s specific needs and the way you have your home set up
  • These new puppy lessons give you the vital information and positive reinforcement skills you need, to get your new puppy started off correctly right from the beginning.  Build on successes with your puppy and minimize errors.
  • Have a relationship with your puppy based on mutual trust and respect, everything should always be a positive experience.

Client Comment:  My name is Jeri Wolff and I have a Bischon puppy.  I had a Bischon for about 12 years and he passed away recently so we got a a new Bischon puppy. I called Jim because everyone I spoke to, including my vet,  said he was the best person to call for training.  I was very desperate because I was not used to having a puppy and our new puppy Budge, was quite a handful.  I called, as I said I was very desperate.  They got me in, Jim trained me, and he just worked wonders with Budge. Jim was so calm with him and Budge responded to him and I didn’t hink Budge would respond to anybody.  He taught him how to sit, how to come, how to stay down and he helped me with the biting issues and the nipping issues.  Budge is doing much much better and I highly recommend Petiquette.

Client Comment:  I’m  Cathy Fonfara and my dog is Stella Dora.  We called Jim after my vet recommended Jim Burwell  to puppy train and train me to potty train Stella.  So I called up Jim, he came to the house and showed me how to train Stella and I used his techniques   After 3 lessons and she’s acting like a normal dog She’s not biting me like she used to.  She’s not pottying in the house like she used to.   I appreciated it and I will recommend Jim.
