Dog obedience training teaches your dog to listen (creates communications) and will give you commands like sit, down and go to your place so your dog has something to do besides inappropriate dog behavior.
It also reinforces your leadership role as you train your dog on a consistent basis. In homes where structure has been lacking, training your dog will provide your dog with a job to do and a stronger sense of responsibility – while at the same time this will begin to accelerate the leadership process. The consistency and repetition of simple sits and downs puts your dog in the mind set of “when you speak, they respond with the appropriate behavior.” You want to make sure your dog will perform commands around distractions that are “relevant to you.”Check out our Group Obedience Class option also!
Five basic obedience commands: sit, down, stay, come when called, go to place (or more if you want) can make the difference between a dog that’s out of control and a dog that’s a pleasure to live with. Practical applications of sit, down, stay, come when called, wait at the door and go to place are great dog training commands that set a solid foundation for a peaceful and rewarding relationship with your dog.
Jim Burwell’s Petiquette offers private in home dog training lessons, around distractions that are relevant to your concerns. We will demonstrate how basic dog obedience training can greatly assist in diminishing and extinguishing issues with your dog which concern you.
