You just want to kick back. You certainly don’t want to do any dog training!

Hi Jim, love your tips! The sit command and the settle commands really work for us. My dog (1.5 yr old shepard mix) is getting better at the no jumping. She is a licker, however - meaning she sneaks a lick in on anyone and everyone. She’s not licking herself, she is licking people. I get her to sit and that works for me. But, visitors/friends get licked. Any suggestions? Thanks! Monica
It’s good to hear you are enjoying my tips. I look forward to working with you and your great dogs again. We’ll continue to focus on the “come command.” Just let me know.
Ken, You didn’t say how old your dog is but assuming somewhere between puppy and adolescent (teenager),
I’d look at putting a leash on your dog, foot on the leash, then say, “Settle.) This should begin to set a boundary for your puppy-stay here and settle down.
Let me know how that goes. Same rules apply don’t look at, talk to or touch. Build up “settle time” in 5 minute increments to reasonablen amount of time you desire your dog
to relax by your foot.
I am enjoying your weekly tips. Rudy and Lily are doing well need more work on our come - like the new fence! Take care and you all have a nice Labor Day!

Tried it and my Golden kept biting my shoe. I would change to the other leg and she would bite the other shoe. Any help is welcome. Thanks.
