My name is Beth and my dogs are Hugo and Annie. I called Jim because they were unfit to live in an apt near other dogs. They were reactive
to other dogs and people when on leash. In 2 lessons, with a lot of diligent work on my part in between, I saw incredible improvement where they are well mannered, on leash, around other dogs and people.
I took Jim’s suggestions and, using the training techniques he taught me, worked my dogs at places where they used to react such as Memorial Park.
This last trip to Memorial Park went well. Prior to our outing, I had to go by the Apt office and Anna sat like a little lady for about 10-15 minutes while I fed her low level (kibble) treats. I was able to converse with the ladies in the office and others came and went without my little Annie going berserk. In fact, they thought she was one of these perfect dogs that you rarely see around. (one lady later at the park called her a show off as she sat sweetly.)
So on to the park. I worked with Hugo first since Anna had already had a bit of a challenge in the office. He did very, very well. Easy, easy to redirect. Not too many dogs to challenge us. Nonetheless, at the distance 1/2 way to the brushline, he had little interest in the goings ons along the trail. Now, the leash floats like air between us.
I would recommend Jim’s methods to anybody to wants to have a better relationship with their dog and invest in a lifelong friend.
