He still has those soulful black eyes, and he still has that blowsy, disheveled look. And the limp. He still has the limp. But the future of this homeless stray, sometimes known as Three Legs, has changed irrevocably….
Cooper, the stray dog formerly known as Three Legs, is ready for a loving home. Those who would like to adopt the 2-year-old pooch — or simply meet and greet him — are invited to a coming-out party at Rover Oaks Pet Resort. We know, most dogs don't get coming-out parties. But this little publicity hound has had all sorts of un-doglike experiences since he was profiled in the Chronicle on Christmas Eve.
Homeless mutt was supposed to be adopted, but he won the hearts of his caretakers. Cooper, the dog who raised himself, has finally picked a family. He likes dog trainer Jim Burwell and his wife, Leila. And he loves Sammy, the Burwells' black Lab. Maybe Sammy reminds Cooper of his black Lab mate at his old house in the shadow of downtown.
